Who this suits

  • Airport runs with four passengers and checked luggage
  • Long highway drives to Ipoh, Melaka, Penang or Johor Bahru
  • Corporate rentals where the car collects clients
  • Anyone who wants a proper boot without SUV running costs

Why a sedan is still the default KL rental

A sedan is the quiet compromise: a real boot that locks away out of sight, a low centre of gravity that settles on the North–South Expressway, and running costs closer to a hatchback than an SUV. For airport work it is the shape that matters — the Perodua Bezza X holds 508 litres and the Toyota Vios E 506, which is four cases without folding anything down.

Every sedan we rent is automatic and insured, with road tax, servicing and 24-hour roadside assistance included in the daily rate. Self pick-up at all four KLCR branches is free, and delivery in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya is RM30 per way and free from three days.

The five cars, and who takes which

The Proton Saga Standard at RM90 is Malaysia's best-selling national sedan and our cheapest car — spacious, sturdy and the usual pick for a monthly package at RM41 a day. The Perodua Bezza X at RM117 adds the 1.3-litre engine and the biggest boot in the economy range.

The Toyota Vios E at RM162 is the long-distance choice, and the Honda City Hybrid at RM144 the economical one at around 28 km per litre — the best fuel figure in the whole fleet, which is why it is our most booked car for Cameron Highlands and Penang runs. At the top, the BMW 530i at RM810 is a 252 hp rear-wheel-drive executive sedan, the car we rent most often for business and corporate evenings.

Deposits, mileage and discounts

Deposits are RM300 on the Saga and Bezza, RM500 on the Vios and City Hybrid and RM1,000 on the BMW 530i, all refundable once the car is checked at the end of the rental. Excess mileage runs from RM0.30 to RM1.00 per km depending on the model.

Mileage is unlimited on rentals of three to 30 days; 1 to 2 day rentals include 200 km a day and 30+ day packages include 4,000 km a month. Discounts are automatic: 10% at seven days, 20% at 14, 35% at 21 and up to 55% at 30 days or more.
